The company was originally started on April 20th, 1982 under the Big Red Q Quickprint Center franchise, at the A.G. Edwards Plaza in Port Charlotte. The franchise name was changed to Quickprint Business Center in 1990 and moved to the Carrousel Mall. Then, in 1998, the Quickprint Business franchise was dissolved and the name was changed to Monarch Printing & Design. The name was chosen because of the colorfulness of the butterfly and the amount of color work the business was turning to from the initial black & white work the “Quickprint type” shops were known for.
In 2000 the business relocated to its current location off of El Jobean Road in Port Charlotte. Mike purchased the business in 2006 from its second owner and had a vision to take the printing company and transform it into a full-fledged marketing company with an in-house production facility. In 2010 the company moved to the other end of the building and tripled its space with a production facility and a customer service and design suite. In April Monarch purchased a local Sign & Wrap Company, Wrap Sign & Design. This has helped the company grow into one of the leading sign & wrap companies in Charlotte County. In 2014 Monarch became a commercial licensed sign contractor, continuing to meet the needs of our customers in Southwest Florida.
